HOW TO HOST AN EVENT:

As you’ve gathered by looking at our site, Invictus LEO goal is to bring officers together and share Jiu Jitsu with them. Invictus is for both and agencies exposed to Jiu Jitsu and show them first hand why the art is fundamental to what we do. 

If you are interested in hosting an Invictus Super Seminar, this is what you need and what is expected. 

1. Access to a matted training facility for the seminar to take place. This can be a Jiu Jitsu Academy or Law Enforcement training area. 
2. You must be active in the Jiu Jitsu and LEO Community as you will be the boots on the ground contact for us. We will require the contact to help promote the event locally via social media, posters and contacts to other LEO Agencies in the area. 
3. In order to run a super seminar, we need a minimum of 75 participants. Room for 75+ participants. Small mat spaces will preclude the seminar from running (that means over 2000-4000 sq ft of mat space.)
4. Seminar contacts will be vetted by Invictus to verify LEO status.
5. The seminar is open to all LEO’s and also civilians who support the cause. The seminars typically do not include duty belts and gear. These seminars focus on gi and nogi techniques which will allow anyone to learn the moves. Its not police specific per se but we will have a focus on police. Again, anyone is welcome as long as they love jiu Jitsu and LEO’s 🙂
6. Gyms must be in good standing in their communities and not be involved in any activity that would place Law Enforcement or Invictus in any sort of conflict of interest. Criminal or illegal activity supported by these gyms will preclude seminars. 
7. We require the hosting gym to be able to promote the event and guarantee a minimum of 75 participants to run an Invictus Seminar. If you have a large LEO Jiu Jitsu contingent in your area, CONTACT US! This is the number to cover costs for travel and instructors participation. Should the seminar not reach the minimum of 75, the hosting gym or agency will cover the cost of the difference.
8. Invictus events are $150/person and are over a 2 day span. Friday night meet and roll (and/or instruction) and Saturday 6 hour teaching portion.

• Social Media Exposure for the event on a wide array of platforms
• Collection of all fees from seminar attendees
• Organization of Instructor line up for the event
• Invictus will handle all flights and hotel stays for out of town Instructors (if needed)
• Incidental cost will be handled by Invictus if needed
• Profits will go to Invictus and supported charities
• Instructors teach as volunteers.
• Work out a time and date that works for all involved

Invictus has held dozens of seminars over the last few years, averaging over 100 participants per seminar. This was the first time that we did not meet our threshold of 50 minimum participants at 6 weeks out. 

This is something that we never want to do obviously but we need to make sure we can cover the costs of the invictus cadre travelling to a specific location. 

We understand that each location around the country has its own BJJ LEO draw, with some cities being more popular for the art than others. While we have no doubt KC has a dedicated LEO BJJ community, it failed to draw enough attendees for us to put on a seminar there.
